Research

Summary

I use biomarker proxies* to study past climatic and environmental change (e.g. paleoclimate). Paleoclimate studies are critical to constrain baselines, improve projections and reveal feedbacks for ongoing and future climatic change. I work on marine, lake, ice-core and speleothem samples from sites globally (the USA, SE Asia, Japan, the Arctic, Antarctica and various marine sites)  and on time-scales from recent few centuries to the last 60 million years.

* Proxy = a molecule or fossil used to infer a climatic parameter (e.g., temperature, hydrology or the carbon-cycle).
